Sophomore Carlee Nussbaum named 'Outstanding
Student' by Capital District YMCA
(June
1, 2012) Sophomore Carlee Nussbaum was recently recognized as an
“Outstanding Student” at the 15th Annual Outstanding Student and
Educator Award ceremony hosted
by the Capital District YMCA.
Selection criteria for this award includes leadership and
dedication in service to school or community, responsible
and positive character, and such values as honesty, caring,
and respect.
“This recognition is certainly reflective of Carlee’s hard work
and dedication as a student, a class representative, and a community
volunteer,” said Voorheesville High School
Principal Imran Abbasi.
Notably, Carlee volunteers on a weekly basis with The
Friendship Circle, an organization that assists families who
have children with special needs; she is an active member of the
school’s “Friends of Rachel” organization, which is dedicated to
creating positive change through purposeful acts of kindness;
and, she is a member of the Albany County District Attorney’s
Youth Advisory Board.
