Students get ready for Hunger Games

(March 15, 2012) The C. A. Bouton High School Library in conjunction with the Voorheesville Public Library presented a Hunger Games special event in the library after school on March 8.

About 40 middle and high school students came ready to have some fun and prepare themselves for the upcoming Hunger Games movie release that’s scheduled for later this month, Friday, March 23.

As spectators, they cheered on their favorite teams and enjoyed wholesome snacks. As tributes, they came to match their skills in a team trivia game and scavenger hunt.

Twelve teams of two, three and four tributes each took part in a Cornucopia Scavenger Hunt and a Hunger Games Facts Questionnaire. Each team represented one of the 12 districts in Panem, where The Hunger Games movie takes place and points were awarded to teams based on knowledge and physical stamina. A variety of prizes were awarded to the top scoring teams.
