Voorheesville MS donates items to Kiwanis food pantry
(Nov. 22, 2011)
Voorheesville Middle Schools food drive, sponsored by the Builders Club,
was a huge success! Over 1,000 items were donated for the Kiwanis food
pantry.
So who was the staff member who had to wear the turkey costume? The
honor went to Principal Mr. Franchini after students collected the most
items in his name.
According to Lisa Spadinger, the Builders Club advisor, it was a neck
and neck race between Mr. Franchini and Mr. Chaize. "Ultimately Mr.
Franchini won because of a huge donation to his box five minutes before
we were ready to do an over all count."
"The drive was a smashing success for middle school and the
participation of the students and faculty is greatly appreciated by both
the Builders Club and the people who access the pantry," Ms. Spadinger.
"We filled the entire back of a Kiwanis members truck!"
