District announces summer learning series


(Updated May 12, 2010)  -- Spring may have just arrived but it's not too early to start thinking about summer!

Voorheesville Central School District will again offer several opportunities for students to continue their studies during the summer months.  With families beginning to think about planning summer vacations, the district wanted to build awareness about the summer enrichment series early. Registration deadline is May 27.

The following learning opportunities will be offered this summer:

  • Weight Training Workshop:
    July 5, 6, 8, 9 and July 12, 13, 15, 16 (two-week workshop)
    10-11 a.m. 9th & 10th grades
    11 a.m.-Noon 11th & 12th grades

  • Cole Writers Institute:
    July 12-16
    Open to students entering grades 6-12.
    9-11:30 a.m.

  • Digital Photography for the Elementary School Students:
    July 12-16
    Open to students entering grades 3-5.
    12:30-2:30 p.m.

  • Microsoft Office Suite Workshop:
    July 19-23
    Open to students entering grades 6-12.
    12:30-2:30 p.m.

  • Everything Art Workshop:
    July 26-30 and August 2-6 (two-week workshop)
    Open to students entering grades 8-9.
    1-3:00 p.m.

  • Math Science Technology Engineering/Robotics Workshop:
    July 26-30
    Open to students entering grades 7-9.
    8-11 a.m.

  • Digital Photography for the Middle/High School Students
    August 2-6
    Open to students entering grades 6-9.
    8:30-11:30 a.m.

  • Baseball Training Workshop:
    August 9-13
    Open to students entering grades 6-12.
    8:30-11:30 a.m.
