Voters approve 2010-11 budget, bus
proposition, elect Monaghan and Gravino to BOE
(May 18, 2010) On Tuesday, May 18, Voorheesville Central School District
residents approved the district’s budget for the
2010-11 school year
with 587 voting in favor and 377
against it. The $21,657,394 budget is a 0.02 percent decrease in
spending and carries an estimated 2.89 percent increase in the tax levy.
Voters also approved a $255,400 bus proposition to purchase two
60-passenger buses and one 28-passenger bus. The vote was 566 yes votes
to to 388 no votes.
In the Board of Education race, newcomers Cindy Monaghan and Kristine
Gravino
were elected to two open seats on the board. They will each serve
four-year terms, effective July 1, 2010.
Vote tallies were as follows:
Cindy Monaghan: 542
Kristine Gravino: 366
Kevin Kroencke: 345
Justin Brusgul: 342
