National Honor Society collecting
gently used clothing and shoes
Dec. 21, 2009—The
National Honor Society is currently collecting gently used clothing and
shoes to support individuals and families in need throughout the United
States and third world countries. Students, staff and community members
are encouraged to make donations. NHS will be paid four cents per pound
for the clothing collected with all proceeds going directly to the
student group's charity of choice at the end of the school year. That's
one donation to support two causes!
Where is the box located?
Outside the high school large gym.
How long are you collecting?
Year round
What happens to the clothing?
The clothing is sent within the USA and
third world countries for reuse, where the clothing is needed.
Can people receive a charitable tax
donation receipt?
Yes, just call the number on the box
and a tax receipt will be mailed.
Is there a list of acceptable
items?
Yes. Acceptable items include men’s,
ladies and children’s clothing, handbags, belts, paired shoes &
sneakers, sheets, blankets, bedspreads, towels, draperies, curtains,
material, stuffed animals, hats and scarves.
