47 Voorheesville students participate in Colonial Council Music Festival
Feb.
17, 2010—Forty-seven students were selected
to participate in the Colonial Council Music Festival held at Waterford-Halfmoon
High School on February 3 and February 6. Voorheesville students joined
with musicians from other Colonial Council schools to form three music
ensembles. The musical groups this year included fifth and sixth grade
chorus, middle school band, and high school band. Rehearsals on both
Wednesday afternoon and Saturday morning culminated in a concert on
Saturday afternoon.
Students in the 5-6 chorus included Miles DeFranco, Abigail Goldfarb,
Claire Guyer, Maya Herr, Thomas Kelefant, Nathan Lawrence, Jayne
Parmenter, Noah Robinson, Stefanie Defronzo, Sadye Goldfarb, Eliza Jobin-Davis,
Mike Losse, Edmund Schultz, and Meghan Sweeney.
Selected for the middle school band were Rebecca Barron, Brianne Borter,
Nicole Brower, David Cardona, Ben Denn, Erin Gannon, Shawn Goyer, Tori
Hargrave, Alex Kaloyeros, Mickey Knight, Ben Mackay, Kim McQuade, Sarah
Peltz, Mackenzie Powell, Adele Reilly, Paul Rothberg, Samantha Scherer,
Jenna Vandervort and Ben Voss.
High school band members included Mary Adkins, Armine Kurkjian, Stephen
Barron, Sawyer Cresap, Karen Dawson, Sam Genovesi, Alexis Hargrave, Sal
Loccisano, Justina Miranda, Casey Morrison, Erika Niner, Karen
Obertubbesing, Colton Parrott, Bailey Ryan, and Garrett Wineinger.
