Superintendent search update

Oct. 31, 2008 - The search for a new superintendent of the Voorheesville Central School District continues to progress.

Capital Region BOCES, which is leading the search at no cost to the district, has already held several focus groups with community members, parents, staff and board members to identify the most desirable qualities sought in a new superintendent.

The superintendent search brochure and application are now available online, and the deadline to apply is January 5, 2009.

BOCES will screen potential candidates and coordinate and oversee interviews of semi-finalists and finalists by the Board of Education. There will also be opportunities for members of the community to be involved during the selection process. 

The goal is to name a new superintendent in the spring of 2009, with the expectation that the individual would begin his or her duties in June or July.
