Board establishes Public Information Committee
Call for volunteers proficient in public relations and other relevant
fields
March 12, 2009 - In an effort to improve communication between the
school district and its many publics, the Voorheesville Central School
District’s Board of Education approved the creation of a temporary
Public Information Committee at its Feb. 9 meeting.
The district is currently seeking members of the community, who have
expertise in the fields of public relations, marketing and
communications, to volunteer. Membership will consist of four community
members, a district staff member, two school board members and the
superintendent of schools.
The committee will meet monthly to review and implement suggestions from
the district’s communications forum and online survey, and will also
solicit additional input from the community. The group will be charged
with reviewing approaches used by other school districts to communicate
effectively, working with media and other district organizations—such as
the Parent Teacher Association and Voorheesville Teachers Association—to
further convey the district’s messages. Additionally, the committee will
provide input regarding the district Web site design.
If you would like to be part of this committee, please e-mail Interim
Superintendent Raymond Colucciello at rcolucci@vcsd.k12.org or call the
district office at 785-3313.
