Preschool parents encouraged to complete survey about full-day kindergarten

Feb. 27, 2009 - Are you a Voorheesville parent of a preschooler? If so, we want to hear from you! The Voorheesville Central School District is conducting an online survey of parents of preschoolers to find out their thoughts about full-day kindergarten. Please complete one survey per family by Thursday, March 19, 2009.

Currently, the Voorheesville Central School District offers a half-day kindergarten program where children attend school for a morning or afternoon session. The Board of Education has authorized a committee to conduct a study of full-day kindergarten. However, at this time, there is no commitment to implement a full-day program.

Preschool parents who are interested in joining the Full-Day Kindergarten Task Force, which is studying the possibility of a full-day program, should e-mail Donna Fitzgerald, the committee chairperson, at dfitzger@vcsdk12.org by Friday, March 13.
