Emergency drills were a success

April 7, 2009 - On Tuesday, April 7, emergency safety drills conducted at the elementary school and middle/high school were a success. The drills were planned in cooperation with the Albany Country Sheriff’s Department and local fire and ambulance companies in an effort to evaluate the district's preparedness in the event of an emergency.

Elementary school students walked off-site to the parking lot at St. Matthew’s Church, which has been identified as a designated shelter in the event of an emergency. The middle/high school drill was conducted on-site.

A large number of police and fire personnel were present during the drills, roads were blocked and traffic re-routed.
