Volunteers still needed for district's Public Information Committee

April 9, 2009 - In an effort to improve communication between the school district and its many publics, the Voorheesville Central School District is seeking members of the community to serve on a temporary Public Information Committee.

Membership will consist of four community members, a district staff member, two school board members and the superintendent of schools. The committee will meet monthly to review and implement suggestions from the district’s communications forum and online survey, and to solicit additional input from the community.

The group will be charged with reviewing approaches used by other school districts to communicate effectively, working with media and other district organizations—such as the Parent Teacher Association and Voorheesville Teachers Association—to further convey the district’s messages. Additionally, the committee will provide input regarding the district's Web site design.
