Colucciello named VCSD interim superintendent of schools A former interim principal of Voorheesville Elementary School has been appointed as the school district's interim superintendent for the 2008-09 school year. Raymond Colucciello will serve as superintendent while the Board of Education conducts a search for a permanent replacement for Linda Langevin, who plans to retire at the end of August. Langevin was appointed superintendent prior to the 2005-06 school year. Colucciello, 70, began his career as an elementary school teacher for the Scotia-Glenville School District and worked his way up to superintendent of the Schenectady City School District, a post he held from 1993-2001. Since retiring, he has worked as an interim superintendent for three Capital Region school districts: Schoharie, Troy and, most recently, the Ballston Spa Central School District, where he served from 2005-08. He has also served as an interim principal for four school districts: Albany, Schalmont, Sharon Springs and Voorheesville. Colucciello earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education from SUNY Oneonta, a master's degree in elementary education from Columbia University and a doctorate in educational administration from SUNY Albany. The search for a permanent superintendent will begin in the fall, and the board has asked Capital Region BOCES to take the lead, Langevin said.
