Congratulations Class of 2008!
On Friday, June 27, more than 110 students representing the Class of
2008 accepted their diplomas in front of an audience comprised of
family, friends, teachers and staff during Clayton A. Bouton High
School's annual commencement ceremony, held at the high school's
football field.
The ceremony began with the Board of Education, administration and
faculty participating in the processional led by the Capital Region
Celtic Pipe Band, followed by welcoming remarks from Nell Pritchard,
who also led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Valedictorian Clara Fried, salutatorian Kevin Klembczyk and student
selected speaker Allison Funk addressed their peers, while Stevie
Church, Jason Freeman, Alexandra Burtman and Michelle Cavanagh
presented the class gift.
There were several guest speakers, including Superintendent Linda
Langevin, who congratulated students on their achievements and
Edward Diegel, who delivered the graduation address.
The program also included several musical
selections, including “Pomp and Circumstance,” “Star Spangled Banner”
and “Fields of Gold.” Music was provided by the Wind Ensemble and choral
members, under the direction of Christopher Jantson and Mary Abba
Gleason, respectively.
After high school principal Mark Diefendorf addressed the graduates,
Board of Education President David Gibson presented students with their
diplomas.
Congratulations graduates and best wishes for the future!
