Making math fun: Board games help students link math to other subjects

Games can be a serious way to learn, some Math 7 students recently found out.

Their assignment was to create a board game using decimals, integers or both. Their teachers encouraged them to take a creative approach to the assignment by tying together information they were learning in other classes.

While some of the 80 or so students who created projects chose history, others chose science or English. The end result: Board games that brought in lessons about the French and Indian War, the human digestive system and more.
