Michelangelo must have been uncomfortable!
On
Tuesday, May 1, the students in Mrs. Lobel’s sixth grade social studies
class learned what it might have been like for Michelangelo to paint the
ceiling of the Sistine Chapel.
After
spending some time learning about Renaissance art during the Renaissance
unit, students got onto the floor and painted a piece of the infamous
ceiling with water colors on paper taped to the bottom of theirs desks.
As they painted, several students got a better understanding of what it
must have been like to paint a ceiling. |
