Class of 2007 Valedictorian and Salutatorian announced
Steven Wang and Richard Curreri were named
valedictorian and salutatorian, respectively, by Mark Diefendorf,
principal of the Clayton A. Bouton High School.
Mr. Wang not only excelled in the classroom where he took 15 Advanced
Placement and Honors courses and had a four year average of 97.8, but
also participated in numerous extracurricular activities. During his
senior year Steven was a member of the tennis team, an active member of
the National Honor Society, an Executive Member of Student Government, a
member of the Model United Nations Team, president of the History Club,
our school’s representative at Boys’ State and a member for the last few
years of the Empire Youth Orchestra. Mr. Tim Kelley, Steven’s guidance
counselor, stated: “Steven is a fantastic student, one of the highest
achieving students with whom I have had the opportunity to work.”
The salutatorian, R.J. Curreri, has a high school resume just as
impressive. R.J. was enrolled in 15 Advanced Placement and Honors
classes during his high school career and received an overall average of
97.3. He was extensively involved in extracurricular activities as
President of the Student Government, the lead in this year’s musical,
GREASE, a member of National Honor Society, and a starter on the Varsity
Baseball Team.
R.J. will be majoring in business and is considering attending either
the University of Richmond, Washington University or Cornell. Steven’s
options include Dartmouth University or Columbia University, among
others.
