Middle/high school meal prices to rise this fall
August 21, 2008 – The price of breakfast and
lunch at Voorheesville Middle School and Clayton A. Bouton High School
will increase by 25 to 40 cents this fall to keep pace with rising fuel
and food costs. Elementary school meal prices will remain the same.
The district’s food services department is financially self-sufficient,
meaning it relies on revenue from paid school meals and federal
reimbursements rather than from the general school district budget.
The new cost for middle/high school meals is as follows:
-
Breakfast: $1.50
-
Lunch: $2.50
Students who may be eligible for free or
reduced-price meals if their families meet federal income guidelines are
encouraged to apply. Families already receiving free or reduced-price
meals must submit a new application for the 2008-09 school year.
