Fourth-grade team makes Colonial Times come alive
through podcast project
The fourth-grade team culminated their study of Colonial
trade positions with a Colonial Times Living Museum
event just before the holiday break. Students learned
about different aspects of colonial life and times with
their classmates by researching various trade positions
and designing their own podcast.

Community invited to special budget meeting Jan. 23
On Monday, Jan. 23, the Board of Education will hold a
special budget meeting at 7:30 p.m. in the high school's
Large Instruction Room. The meeting will include an
overview of where the district stands in its budget
planning, including some specific factors shaping
2012-13 and potential budget reductions. All members of
the community are invited to attend.
Seventh-grader will represent Voorheesville in Capital
Region Spelling Bee, Feb. 7
Voorheesville Middle School seventh-grader Ryan Burczak
has clenched the title of "Voorheesville Spelling Bee
Champion" and will represent Voorheesville at the
Capital Region Spelling Bee at Proctor's Theater in
Schenectady on Tuesday, Feb. 7.

The New York Voices, Grammy Award winning vocal jazz
quartet, will be
performing on
Friday, Feb. 3, at 7:30 p.m. in the Lydia C. Tobler
Performing Arts Center. Ticket information, including

The district's Spring 2012 Continuing Education brochure
will be mailed to residents by the end of the month.
In-person registration for the program will be held on
Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 13 & 14, in the Clayton A.
Bouton High School Cafeteria from 7-8:30 p.m. Classes
begin the week of February 27, unless otherwise noted in
the brochure.
