Lunch, Recess, and Snack
Lunch begins at 10:55 for first grade students. Children may pack a lunch or buy a school lunch. Families may send in a check made out to Voorheesville Elementary School to deposit money onto their child's lunch account or they can pre-load money online by using the MyNutriKids program. Both options allow children to buy lunch and/or milk using a four digit pin code. Each child has their own card in the classroom until the pin code can be memorized. At approximately 11:20, the children will go outside for recess (weather permitting) until 11:40. Please be sure your child dresses for the weather, as the children continue to go out for recess throughout the winter months.
Each afternoon, we will share a group snack. Please send your child with a healthy snack to share with the class once every other month. Some good choices include; apples, crackers, pretzels, cheese sticks, cut up veggies, goldfish, raisins, etc.
