Capital Project begins in June 2007
On Sept. 19, 2006, Voorheesville residents approved a bond
project that will enable the district to make many repairs to
Voorheesville Elementary School, as well as Voorheesville Middle School
and Clayton A. Bouton High School.
Project construction will begin once school is
out for the summer in June 2007.
Work is slated to begin this summer on the top two
floors of the elementary school – the 1930 and 1949 sections – as well
as in the middle and high schools. Construction at the elementary school
will not be completed until summer 2008, while work at the middle and
high schools will be completed by September 2007. No work will take
place during the school day.
During the summer, the elementary school offices
will be temporarily located in the high school. Next fall, two
elementary classrooms at a time will be relocated to "swing classrooms"
within the building, in order to allow work in other rooms to be
completed. In total, 16 classrooms will be temporarily relocated during
the school year.
