Harvest Celebration is this Sunday, Oct. 2!


(updated Sept. 29, 2011; Sept. 21, 2011) The PTA Garden Project will present the 2011 Harvest Celebration on Sunday, October 2, from 2-5 p.m. in the Blackbird Paradise Garden. The afternoon of activities kicks off "Farm to You Fest," which runs October 3-7.

Activities featured during the Harvest Celebration are as follows:

  • F2S Garden-to-Grill Food: Introducing Guest Chef Brian Molino who will be grilling up fresh local produce to sample

  • Annual Potato Harvest: Dig up some spuds and help harvest other fall crops

  • Apple Taste Test: compare two varieties for Indian Ladder Farm apples

  • Garden Clean-Up: help get the garden beds ready for winter

  • Craft Table: Create take-home masterpieces

  • Face Painting

  • Raffles: Enter to win a harvest basket full of goodies, pumpkins and other prizes

Optional admission: Bring a donation for the Regional Food Bank (peanut butter, beans, hearty soups, chili, stews, cereals).
